FPUA recognized as Utility of the Future Today
Wastewater Wednesdays | Building the Future Together
We’re proud to share that Fort Pierce Utilities Authority has once again been recognized as a Utility of the Future Today, this year in the Partnering & Engagement category!
The Utility of the Future Today program is a national recognition led through a partnership of some of the water sector’s leading organizations, including the Water Environment Federation, National Association of Clean Water Agencies, The Water Research Foundation, WateReuse Association, and U.S. Water Alliance.
FPUA’s Director of Water and Wastewater, Bo Hutchinson, accepted the recognition on behalf of FPUA during the Utility of the Future Today ceremony at WEFTEC 2026 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Following the ceremony, Director of Public Affairs & Sustainability Rachel Tennant proudly presented the recognition to the FPUA Board of Directors.
For FPUA, Partnering & Engagement is an essential part of how we serve our community. Major utility projects and long-term investments are stronger when they are supported by open communication, collaboration, education, and meaningful relationships with our customers, community partners, local organizations, and stakeholders.
As we continue advancing major wastewater improvements and preparing our community for the future, we remain committed to keeping our customers informed and creating opportunities for our community to understand the work happening behind the scenes.
Most importantly, thank you to our customers and the Fort Pierce community. Your trust, participation, questions, and support are an important part of our progress. This recognition belongs not only to FPUA, but to the community we are proud to serve.
Together, we are building a more resilient and sustainable future for Fort Pierce.
