HVAC and drywall moving forward

NEW UPDATE: Wastewater Wednesdays!

Last week we shared two exciting updates: FPUA’s Mike Martin joined One Lagoon, One Voice: The Podcast to discuss the new facility, and State Representative Dana Trabulsy announced $5 million in state support for the project at the City Commission meeting.

This week, steady progress continues across the site. Inside the O&M building, crews are advancing with finishing touches as flooring is being installed, ceiling systems are coming together, and HVAC and drywall work is moving forward. At the blower building and sludge holding tank, the new process blowers have been placed and installed. An updated aerial photo shows the entire site continuing to take shape.

For conveyance, work along the Jenkins Road corridor is nearly complete. Sod continues to be installed, the first lift of asphalt paving has been completed, and a walk-through inspection with wastewater operations was conducted to inspect valves and air release. We will continue moving forward with the next sections of the conveyance system.

Each step is another move toward building a stronger, more sustainable utility for our community. Follow along as we share more progress and milestones in the weeks ahead.

As always, we’d like to thank all of our partners, contractors, vendors, and crews who are helping us deliver this important project to our customers! FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.

We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations to come.
