Interior flooring nearly complete, storefront doors being set
NEW UPDATE: Wastewater Wednesdays!
Significant progress was achieved last week with the installation of high-voltage switchgear and variable frequency drive (VFD) equipment in the main electrical building. At the headworks, placement of grit and screening equipment commenced, and cabinetry and consoles were installed in the O&M building’s control room and laboratory.
This week, construction activities are advancing steadily at the O&M building, where interior flooring is being completed, storefront doors are being set, and patio entryways are nearing finalization. At the headworks, the structure continues to take shape with the installation of the staircase, grit collection equipment, and the near completion of protective pipe coatings. These improvements are shaping the facility into an operationally ready treatment plant.
Each stage of progress demonstrates FPUA’s commitment to delivering a modern facility that will provide reliable service and long-term environmental benefits for the Fort Pierce community.
As always, we’d like to thank all of our partners, contractors, vendors, and crews who are helping us deliver this important project to our customers! FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.
We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations to come.
