HVAC and plumbing now installed!
NEW UPDATE: Wastewater Wednesdays!
Last week, crews were making strides on the Main Electrical Building, headworks structure, and influent and effluent piping.
This week we can see some new progress inside the O&M building, as crews are working to frame out the walls, HVAC, and plumbing of the second floor offices and control room. We can also see some of the concrete progress on the headworks structure, with first wall pours and pipe flanges installed last week. The flow equalization system is coming together, with the high-flow pump and valves installed last week. We can also see a great aerial shot of the entire site that really shows the extent of the hard work being performed by all the members of our build team!
And finally, we have been honored to host recent site tours with members of our in-house Utility Advisory Committee, City of Ft. Pierce Commissioners, and Mayor Hudson. It is always fun to show off the construction progress made and highlight the impact of this project and what it will mean for our customers, and City, once complete.
Every week brings us closer to completion on the construction of this treatment plant. Soon we’ll begin sharing photos of construction on the conveyance system! Stay tuned as we continue building a stronger, more resilient future for our community.
As always, we’d like to thank all of our partners, contractors, vendors, and crews who are helping us deliver this important project to our customers! FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.
We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
