O&M building’s roof sheet fully installed
NEW UPDATE: Wastewater Wednesdays!
Crews made great progress last week. The underground disc filter influent line saw new connections installed, masonry walls at the main electrical building continued rising, and the first steel columns were set at the headworks. At the Operations & Maintenance building, the second half of the roof was installed, and the maintenance bay staircase was placed.
This week, even more progress is taking shape. The O&M building’s roof sheeting is now fully installed, setting the stage for foam insulation and a concrete layer to be poured in the coming weeks. This marks a big step in enclosing the structure, allowing work on the interior to advance. The main electrical building has reached another milestone, with walls fully in place and preparations underway for the slab and roof installation. Over at the headworks, column framing is coming together, giving more definition to the structure. Crews are also making progress on rough-in work for the future pipe system that will support the flow equalization tank, an important component in managing wastewater treatment.
Work continues to move forward, bringing us closer to completion. Stay tuned for more updates!
As always, we’d like to thank all of our partners, contractors, vendors, and crews who are helping us deliver this important project to our customers! FPUA is grateful for this project with industry leaders Globaltech, Inc., Haskell and Hazen, the site designers and build team; TLC Diversified, Inc., re-routing the conveyance system to redirect wastewater flows away from the Indian River Lagoon; Kimley-Horn, the conveyance system designers, and the sub-contractors working so hard to keep this project safe and on schedule.
We are also thankful for the partnership with the City of Fort Pierce in this infrastructure improvement effort that will benefit the Fort Pierce community for generations.
